Map notes

This is a deliberately simplified geographic model of Toronto's legacy streetcar track network, not a turn-by-turn operating map. It preserves the main corridors, terminal loops/stations, cross-network connections, and the three streetcar carhouses; tiny yard ladders and some special-work track are compressed for playability.

Vehicle scale: TTC's Flexity low-floor streetcar is 30.20 m long and 2.54 m wide. Length is drawn at true world scale. Width gets a tiny minimum on small screens so your streetcar does not become avant-garde pixel art.

2026 anchors: 501, 503, 504, 505, 506, 507/508, 509, 510, 511 and 512 corridors; Long Branch, Humber, Gunns, High Park, Dufferin Gate, Exhibition, Distillery, Bingham and Neville Park loops; Union, Spadina, Bathurst, Broadview, Dundas West and Main Street stations.

Carhouses: Roncesvalles, Russell and Leslie Barns are playable. Harvey Shop/Hillcrest is included as a maintenance spur.

Route continuity: if you do not throw a switch, the game now strongly prefers staying on the same TTC route/corridor. Cross-corridor special work remains playable when you deliberately select it. The 506 genuinely uses Dundas Street West between Howard Park and College; that Dundas → College transition is intentional.

Speed: Arcade is the default: 180 km/h departure speed with intentionally fictional overdrive up to 2000 km/h. Realistic / Purist is governed to 50 km/h. The real Flexity vehicle is rated to a 70 km/h maximum.

Stops: the HUD follows geographic streetcar stop locations rather than a selected route schedule. Stops are snapped onto this simplified rail model, so throwing a switch immediately changes the upcoming stop. Tiny diamonds mark stop locations; you absolutely do not have to stop.

Track model: each mapped street corridor renders directional virtual rails a few metres apart. Every degree-1 endpoint is a protected terminal turnback; Union gets a larger synthetic loop so a long consist cannot die merely by reaching the platform. Ossington's College↔Dundas diversion track is playable even though it has no regular route.

Touch: pinch the game map to zoom the camera. Safari page zoom is suppressed during play so the brake and accelerator stay where your thumbs left them.

Rule: collect parked streetcars, avoid biting your own train, and try not to explain a forty-car consist to Transit Control.

Streetcar Snake

Eat streetcars. Get absurdly long.
Don't eat yourself. Basically Snake, except the snake is 30-tonne transit equipment.
